Creating a positive mindset by using simple reminders

The human brain is wired towards more negative thought patterns, it’s a survival mechanism at its most effective but can be an unhealthy cycle that we lean towards if we let it take over.

We need to make a conscious effort to pull ourselves out of that way of thinking. This then rewires the brain solidifying new neural pathways so it becomes easier to think more positively. Firing and wiring in the brain 🧠

I use rocks to remind me, rocks from happy walks on beaches. I keep these rocks in my car, in my jacket pocket, by my bed and by the bath (a lot of rocks 😂) and when I remember to, I see the rock, pick it up and pause for a few moments to be thankful for all the positives in my life, anything from the weather, my health, to my family, friends, laughter, dancing views, nature, breakfast.. anything and everything!

For me it’s a really good reminder in a busy day of how many good things there are and a pull for my brain out of going towards the negative/ fear/ worry patterns that it so enjoys being in! Hopefully this is a little reminder to pause and be grateful, maybe you can find a shell or a big old rock to remind you too..
